UPDATE June 2025

Beau

Beautiful Beau arrived in Dallas safely from San Antonio and we took him for medical care for a distended abdomen. Unfortunately it was found to be a huge and nasty cancerous tumor of the spleen. We had to say goodbye to make it easy for Beau. He was such a great boy!

In loving tribute to Beau and all dogs like him who faithfully loved their caretakers and who themselves became caretakers.

Beau

Due to disability, addiction, homelessness, or other challenges of their special persons, these dogs of great heart and intelligence provide companionship, protection and guidance throughout their lives. When Beau became grey, with cataracts, hearing loss, and medical issues, we witnessed his spirit pushing him to continue to lead any person caring for him back to the safety of whatever door their walk left from. He led persons caring for him in his old age with goodwill and the playfulness of a puppy, even after his most beloved person of more than a decade had passed leaving him behind.

Bless you Beau and all protectors like you who champion everyday people with challenges, because those people who seemingly have nothing, have everything in you and dogs like you!

Rest in peace beloved Beau.

UPDATE April 2025

Captain is doing fantastic!  His fractured  jaw has healed and he is eating well and putting on weight.  The injuries to his head are healed. His eye we are still working on.  He was heartworm  positive and FIV positive and we are managing that.  Captain is preparing for a cushy indoor-only life!  Thank you for all who donated to this badly injured and deserving kitty!   “The Captain” is one tough boy!

UPDATE: March 2025

Captain finally started eating on his own and no more coughing and gagging. We are trying to save his eye and he may be going to TXVO in Fort Worth. He is a very sweet boy and allows us to give him all his antibiotics and eye meds.
